Be more than a spectator—become a co-creator! This July, join our Members' exclusive workshops on two selected Saturdays to participate in Open the Box 2025: Bloom of Light at Tai Kwun. Through the workshops, you are invited to contribute to the spectacular collective artwork, created by renowned Japanese artist Shinji Ohmaki, by creating blooming floral motifs and patterns under the guidance of art educators. Weave your personal narrative into this ever-evolving installation as we build a shared creative space celebrating cultural storytelling.
As a special privilege, Members joining the workshop will receive priority access to the closing ceremony on 3 August, witnessing how your creativity shapes this shared masterpiece, and also taking part in completing this artwork. So, don't miss this unique opportunity to leave your mark on an innovative artistic experience.

About Open the Box Open the Box is an innovative programme taking place every summer at Tai Kwun Contemporary, aiming to explore alternative and innovative approaches to community engagement and shape the future of museums. Gallery and white cube spaces are typically platforms for curators' and artists' creativity. But during this special event, the roles will be reversed—the gallery will feature collective works created by artists, visitors and participants.
