C-for-Chinese@JC Volunteer Activity – Activity Highlight
Members generously lent their in-person support to C-for-Chinese@JC Multicultural Harmony Fun Day on 17 June, which turned out to be equally rewarding for both volunteers and participating immigrant children. One of the activations of the Trust-initiated C-for-Chinese@JC project, the aim is to help non-Chinese-speaking ethnic minority students become proficient in Chinese. Volunteers helped organise the flow on the day, managed the photo and gift redemption booths, and everyone had fun trying out henna, the painted body art popular in countries like India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Through friendship and cultural exchange, the children received a warm outreach and got a big boost of confidence in their Chinese language skills.
