Members’ CARE 2023 Summer Treasures Volunteering Activities – Activity Highlight
Thank you to all our volunteers for making this a most meaningful summer! We’re so grateful for your enthusiastic participation in a season of immersive learning and helping to protect our natural world and its resources. At the Trust-funded Jockey Club Chinese Herb Garden you not only gained knowledge of these herbs but engaged in planting and gathering, joined a mosquito coil workshop and topped it all off by enjoying refreshing tea made from garden-grown ingredients. To help revitalise Sha Lo Tung’s endangered wetland ecology, you followed the lead of Green Power representatives to assist the removal of invasive species. And at the Trust-funded Jockey Club “Field So Good” Community Composting Programme, you and your children discovered how local industrial food waste is transformed into top-quality organic compost, joined a terrarium workshop, tried your hand at organic farming and even snacked on crackers made from rice grown on-site.
