C-for-Chinese@JC Mid-Autumn Festival Community Inclusion Activity - Activity Highlight
On September 21, Member volunteers dedicated a wonderful morning to celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival with non-Chinese-speaking kindergarten students in the C-for-Chinese@JC project. The event began with a captivating storytelling session, introducing the rich cultural background of the festival to the wide-eyed youngsters. Volunteers and children then immersed themselves in the festival traditions by creating vibrant paper lanterns, had fun in the riddle-solving game to learn about words associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival and enjoyed a delightful buffet lunch together which further fostered warmth and connection. The children not only experienced the joy of the festival but also gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture through these immersive activities. This memorable Mid-Autumn Festival celebration created lasting memories for everyone involved, nurtured cultural understanding and strengthened our community bonds.
