During the break between racing seasons in summer, the Club brought together likeminded Members with an enriching event series at The Eighth at Happy Valley Clubhouse to cultivate connections and inspire intriguing dialogues. Fireside chats were hosted by Members with industry experts; while participants mingled with fellow Members sharing the same passion over drinks and canapés. On 17 July, we shone a spotlight on homegrown enterprises and Hong Kong heritage brands with an evening led by Member and e-commerce platform Vermillion founder Krizia Li. Joining Krizia in an inspiring conversation about Revitalising Hong Kong Heritage Brands with our next generation family leaders and senior management guests from Kowloon Motor Bus, CAMEL Vacuum Flasks,and Tai Ping Carpets: Winnie Ng, Raymond Leung and Enoch To. Meanwhile, we embarked on a whiskey journey with our Members to explore the world of diverse flavors on 14 August, renowned spirits industry advocate and Asia’s first Certified Spirits Educator Eddie Nara joined Members for an intimate fireside chat to share his deep knowledge of whiskies from four renowned whisky-making countries. Members were also invited to join the panel for a deep-dive session with Eddie, where they discovered how factors like climate, water source and grain selection contribute to the diversity of regional whisky styles; and how to pair whisky with food. An exclusive tasting flight with whiskies selected by Eddie were also available to take home.
