This Summer, the Members’ CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team collaborated with the Jockey Club “Look for Green” Mobile Recycling Programme to host a series of engaging environmental conservation activities for our Members and their children. At the educational event held at Beas River Country Club, participants learned the correct methods for separating recyclable materials, participated in a book swap, and took part in an upcycling workshop, transforming old T-shirts into tote bags. Additionally, during the second-hand clothes sorting activity, Members and their children played a crucial role in accurately sorting donated pre-loved clothes by type, size, and condition, supporting charity sales and promoting a circular economy. The series culminated in second-hand charity sales where Members and their children set up displays for donated items and provided customer service, all while sharing tips for adopting a greener lifestyle.
